Defiance Roller Coaster

Called off work that day to drive 3 hours from Denver to hide and go on an adventure! Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park called out to us to a hideaway with a couple of friends, to ride the Gondola up (7 min ride up) and check out a very outdoorsy mountain themed park. We did the Gondola and Cave Tour Only
Adult $33.00 EACH. Not a long wait in line, we got escorted by the Gondola and it was beautiful every second of it. We got to see everything from up there and the breeze felt nice. As we finally got to the top of all, we were greeted from an associate and we explored our options of the park. We noticed they had lots of little trails heading into different sections of the park, and it felt like a small hike which I liked. They had a mini rock climbing wall for the little kiddoes. They had a whole water spraying area to cool off as we all got red from the unforgiving sun.

We were attracted to the thrill rides that Caverns had to offer, and we chose to experience The Eagle Zip Ride as the first ride and it was kind of scary for me, not because of the speed of the ride, but because of the height and so far off into the elevation of the mountains. That’s one way to face your fear of heights. I dreamed of crossing out the Alpine Coaster out of my bucket list, but I didn’t know where to find such a ride and just my luck, this park had it!
My favorite whimsical, fairytale like ride! Passing through trees and tracks, this ride is very beautiful, not too fast and very fun. The cave tours were also very beautiful and the children all around us seemed to be curious and intrigued by the “Cave Bacon!” Our tour guide was also wonderful and we felt such accomplishment for a successful visit.

It’s expensive. But man – what a great time! We scheduled to get there at 10AM so we had the maximum time with our kids. The morning started out great – cool weather and no lines. We went on the Alpine Slide and the Eagle zip line about 20 times total. All the other rides were cool too. One that was unexpectedly cool was the 4D theater. You have to try it! Works all the senses and the chairs move. The mine tour was cool. All of the staff were great. Only the negative I’d say was the restaurant food was surprisingly bad. Expensive for what you got – which was basically a microwaved plate of food. Otherwise – great experience and worth the money.

This was a highlight of our trip and very reasonably priced. We paid $59 for the gondola ride up and all the other rides. Parking was free. We paid $28 for the mountain coaster alone in Breckenridge. We got so much more for our money. This part of the state is warmer than where we stayed in Frisco. The view from the cafe was amazing, the canyon swing is not for the faint of heart.

Amazing Day! Best place to spend an entire day. So much fun and cool stuff to do. The cave tours are awesome, the swings are fun and exhilarating!

Best-Day-Ever (grandkid quote) We had the best time at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. We got there early and stayed late. We had a group of 13 (with grandkids from age 5 to 17). The activities kept us running in all directions as everyone seemed to have their own favorites to ride over and over. My personal favorite was the little yellow bobsled. The swing was a favorite of some that went out over the cliff (not of mine – not my thing, but I did it with one of the grands). COVID was certainly a nuisance, but it in now way hindered our fun. What a Great day we had.

Unique and Beautiful Family Park Great family experience with 360° of beautiful views all around you! The gondola ride to the top is a great, scenic introduction to the park (look for the birds of prey circling around you as you ascend!) Not a large quantity of rides, but what they have is exhilarating! A 120 ft. free fall drop down a mineshaft, a giant swing that propels you over the edge of a cliff and even the normally docile swing rides are breathtaking as you swing out over the edge of the canyon. Also, the cave tours are educational, amazing and great way to get out of the heat!
