Vid Weatherwax (Alternative): Vid was born and raised in Jackson Michigan, not far from Detroit Like every boy in 1966 he played in a rock band made up of his buddies, competing in battle of the bands with Detroit up-and-comers like Bob Seger, Ted Nugent, Iggy Pop and many other Motor City music legends. Vid started his road career at the age of 18 as an accompanist for touring lounge singers and honed his “American songbook” chops over the next several years. Returning to Michigan and the Detroit music scene in the mid 70’s , Vid spent time as a studio musician and crisscrossed the country with different concert, club, and festival bands. He has always written music for all the bands in which he played, and is currently working on a new “album” of original music which will feature many of our valley’s excellent musicians and singers. Since moving to Glenwood Springs in 2009, Vid has become a favorite in all the Valley night clubs as well as the Denver area. Vid has been the musical director for one of Glenwood’s popular attractions, the famous Glenwood Vaudeville Revue since 2017. He also uses his network of bands and musicians to supply the music at the Hot Spring’s “Sunset Sounds” series in the summer as well as booking the entertainment at the Glenwood Downtown Market and Music Series on the Colorado River, under our beautiful bridge during the warm months. He is an avid swimmer and lover of the Hot Springs Pool , a river rat and a ski enthusiast. Like many transplants, he has found a new home here in the Roaring Fork Valley.
