Welcome NCA Convention Attendees
We hope you are planning to visit Glenwood Caverns for this year’s National Caves Association Convention! To help in the process, we’ve compiled some handy links about Glenwood Springs, things to do, lodging and more.
During the week of September 24-28, 2018, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado will host the 53rd Annual National Caves Association Convention. To get ready, we are busy prepping and planning for your arrival later this year. Part of that is making sure you have all the resources you need to make this year’s convention a highlight event.
From breath-taking Glenwood Canyon to our own showcave at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, water has in one form or another shaped the destiny of Glenwood Springs. It’s why we’re known as the “Land of Water.”
We’re famous for our mineral hot springs, in fact we have three geothermal attractions – Iron Mountain Hot Springs, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort and the Yampah Spa & Vapor Caves. During your visit we encourage you to fully immerse yourself in our therapeutic waters.
Fall happens to also be an idyllic time to visit our mountain town; the weather is exquisite and it’s easy to get outdoors to explore further afield. It’s a perfect time of year to go rafting on the Colorado River, fish our Gold Medal designated rivers and streams, take a hike or ride a bike in Glenwood Canyon, experience tandem paragliding from the top of Red Mountain, and that’s just for starters!
To help you coordinate and plan your extra-convention activities we’ve partnered with Glenwood Adventure Company. Whether you’re running the Shoshone rapids or bumping along a four-wheel drive road, their guides are experienced and reliable. Because fall trips are highly popular, we advise making reservations in advance of your arrival. To schedule an excursion, visit their website or give them a call at 971-945-7529.
During your free time, grab a beer or sit down for a memorable meal. Glenwood Springs has a thriving dining scene with everything from farm-to-table eateries to award-winning breweries. Lodging is equally diverse. You’ll find a full spectrum of accommodations with options for every budget including hotels and motels, historic properties, cabins, bed and breakfasts and campgrounds.
Whether you’re driving or flying, Glenwood Springs is easy to get to as well. It’s located in western, Colorado along Interstate-70 and served by four airports including Eagle County Regional, Aspen-Pitkin County, Grand Junction Regional and Denver International Airport.
We’re looking forward to a productive 2018 Convention and to welcoming you to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs.
