What’s better than summertime dining al fresco? Eating and drinking outdoors while listening to great tunes at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The mountaintop theme park channels a laid-back summer vibe with everyday happy hour events like Pickin’ in the Plaza, Friday Afternoon Club and Music on the Mountain that showcase talented artists.
Happy Hour Munchies & More
While you’re enjoying the music scene in the plaza, be sure to check out the food and drink choices from the Lookout Grille and the Smoke House. Fill up at the Lookout Grille with burgers, loaded nachos, salads, pizza and chicken tenders for the kids. At the Smoke House, pulled pork sandwiches reign supreme, but there are other options as well including smoked sausages, burgers and more.
Happy hour drink specials run the gamut. Check in with wait staff and bartenders for the latest, greatest deals. Both mountaintop restaurants feature on-tap beer including Glenwood Caverns IPA which is brewed in Glenwood Springs, as well as a variety of bottled beer options. Adult Icees are a fun summer treat too, the refreshing frozen cocktail is made with your choice of rum, vodka or tequila.
Getting To the Mountain-top
Pickin’ in the Plaza
New to the Adventure Park this season, Pickin’ in the Plaza takes place Monday through Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Main Plaza. Listen to artists, all local favorites, as they pick, strum and sing for audiences. Upcoming acts include Rodrigo, Stone Kitchen, Feeding Giants and Jeff Rice and the Low-End Family Collective.
Friday Afternoon Club
Finish the week strong with FAC at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Raise a glass to the weekend as a lineup of talented musicians entertain audiences with a range of genres that include bluegrass, coffee house rock, swing and soul. While the drink specials are subject to change, a happy hour tradition that remains invariable is draft beer pints for just $5.
Music on the Mountain
A summertime standard, Music on the Mountain takes place on Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. through Sept. 17. Concerts range from boot-stompin’ country to old-time rock & roll and banjo-heavy bluegrass. Throughout the evening, park staffers give out amazing prizes that everyone want to win from Adventure Park swag to complimentary soaks at Iron Mountain Hot Springs.
