Kiddie Rides
For Our Littlest Park Goers
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park welcomes our youngest guests with play areas, rides and activities designed to engage and delight children. PLEASE NOTE: Rides can be closed due to maintenance, weather or the winter and spring season.
- Like riding a pony, the Giddy Up bounces kids up and down for lots of giggles.
- They’ll feel the wind in their hair on the gentle, but exciting Wild West Express.
- Slow and steady, the Mine Wheel takes kids to new heights in Ferris wheel style.
- Go for the summit on our Climbing Wall which features routes of varying degrees of difficulty.
- Playing in the dirt has always been fun, but never more so than when panning for gemstones in our
giant sluice. - Dinosaur fossils have been found in the Roaring Fork Valley, kids can also dig them up in our Fossil Dig Sand Box.
Encourage kids to explore, create, challenge themselves and push their boundaries with Glenwood Caverns’ assortment of play experiences and activities.

Weather Policy
The weather in the Rocky Mountains can change quickly. In the spring and summer months it is not uncommon to experience thunderstorms which brings wind and lightning. If we experience high wind or lightning in close proximity, the gondola will slow down and sometimes stop. We may also close the gondola for a period of time until the weather passes; typically, these storms move through in 45 to 90 minutes. Please plan accordingly for these delays as there is no alternative means of transportation. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

This is probably one of those days in my life when I had non-stop fun all day!!!
The rides are pretty scary (I’m super scared of heights) but extremely fun. The rides are soooo fun that you literally scream the entire time you’re seated.
There is absolutely no ride that is bad. All the rides have their own way of fun.
If I have to choose my favorite ride/experience, it’d be the mine drop .
This will be your absolutely amazing family experience because they have rides and experiences for all age group including proper food establishments + alcoholic beverages.

We road the Gondola up, kids enjoyed. We first did the Kings Cavern, self guided tour. Really awesome rock formations, tour guides stationed along the way. The final room is the spectacular and they have a lights show. We went over Thanksgiving so in addition to black lights and colorful lights the had Christmas lights. It was really done well. We then follow up with the Fairy Cave tour, which is a guided tour. The rock formations are not as impressive, if you only have time for one tour I highly recommend the King’s Cavern. However, the tour guide for the Fairy tour is highly entertaining. We had guide, Becca, she is hilarious. She does song parodies. It was worth every penny and we tipped her at the end. She clearly loves her job and is an entertainer. She makes caves fun for the old and the young. We went during COVID19 times, so masks were required. There were some large extended family groups that didn’t seem so into the masks, but overall we felt safe. We are fall in the middle range of COVID safety, not overly worried, don’t generally wear masks outside (but always inside public spaces) but try to respect the rules. For those who haven’t left their houses in 9 months I do not think this would be enjoyable. I would recommend these tours for those looking for a fun, educational thing to do family. read less

Education before recreation….
We got the educational aspects in before the rides and rightly so. By around 1 PM, all the operator’s radios were signaling a power outage. Then a large cloud began to loom overhead. Colorado’s 2nd largerst wildfire, just east of the park, had just began on I-70. I-70 was then closed for a few weeks as CO’s fire brigade did their best.
The park was amazing, efficient and professional in evacuating and making sure all guests were safe. We got a lot of rides in before we had to go. We will be back to see it again and hopefully also see the town, Juicy Lucys and the Hot springs as well. read lessPhoenix11/20/2020 -

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park called out to us to a hideaway with a couple of friends, to ride the Gondola up (7 min ride up) and check out a very outdoorsy mountain themed park. We did the Gondola and Cave Tour Only
Adult $33.00 EACH. Not a long wait in line, we got escorted by the Gondola and it was beautiful every second of it. We got to see everything from up there and the breeze felt nice. As we finally got to the top of all, we were greeted from an associate and we explored our options of the park. We noticed they had lots of little trails heading into different sections of the park, and it felt like a small hike which I liked. They had a mini rock climbing wall for the little kiddoes. They had a whole water spraying area to cool off as we all got red from the unforgiving sun.
We were attracted to the thrill rides that Caverns had to offer, and we chose to experience The Eagle Zip Ride as the first ride and it was kind of scary for me, not because of the speed of the ride, but because of the height and so far off into the elevation of the mountains. That’s one way to face your fear of heights. I dreamed of crossing out the Alpine Coaster out of my bucket list, but I didn’t know where to find such a ride and just my luck, this park had it!
My favorite whimsical, fairytale like ride! Passing through trees and tracks, this ride is very beautiful, not too fast and very fun. The Haunted Mine Drop was definitely a long line wait, and the drop was DEEEP. I screamed and was horrified. I never enjoyed a long drop ever in my life, but this ride caught me by surprise. The cave tours were also very beautiful and the children all around us seemed to be curious and intrigued by the “Cave Bacon!” Our tour guide was also wonderful and we felt such accomplishment for a successful visit. read lessAlice Q.11/16/2020Great for family with kids 5 and older. The tour guides are knowledgeable, and the people working here are always friendly and willing to help. The rides are incredible, the views are amazing, and the price is about the same as Eliches; but barely any lines, and a bar and grill that serves some dank food. Plus there is hot springs nearby…I don’t know why you wouldn’t visit here if you came to Colorado. read less

Very friendly and ready to talk and assist guests everywhere. Especially Becca and Cole our guides in the caves. Becca made the caves very fun and high energy. I had a blast on the rides that they had and not even all of them were open and it was definitely worth the full price $59 that I paid online but when I showed up they refunded me $15 and said that I should be given a discount because of how a few rides were shut down today. every staff that I've interacted with on every level from right operators to the gondola tax to just people walking around the park have been very friendly very helpful and just gave me a wonderful experience. If you're anywhere in the vicinity come check them out you could run through everything in the park if they're not busy in a few hours but you honestly can spend the whole day here having fun by yourself or with a bunch of kids. The mountain coaster is probably one of the most unique rides I've ever been on in my life, it alone is worth the entry price! read less
