Glenwood Gondola Weather Policy
The Glenwood Gondola
provides transportation to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park with breathtaking views of the town of Glenwood Springs, Mount Sopris and the confluence of the Colorado and the Roaring Fork Rivers.
The Weather
in the Rocky Mountains can change quickly. In the Spring and Summer months it is not uncommon to experience afternoon thunderstorms which bring wind and lightning.
If we experience high winds or lightning
in close proximity, the Glenwood Gondola will slow down and sometimes stop. We may also close the gondola for a period of time until the storm has passed. Typically, these storms pass quickly, usually in about 45-90 minutes. We will resume loading the gondola as soon as the storm passes.
Please plan accordingly
for these delays as there is no alternate means of transportation.

Gabrielle RichardsAugust 28, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fun little park on top of a mountain, the caves are very cool and beautiful. Staff is friendly and the older male tour guide for the caves is hilarious. Highly recommend buying tickets ahead of time because it is cheaper. There is a swing that swings out over the canyon... I am an avid roller coaster person but the g-force on that thing feels crazy compared to any coaster I have been on. It was a lot of fun but terrifying! There is a bar and grill, and concession stand if you get peckish. Adam WalrathAugust 24, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very cool and fun I went on the Alpine Coaster the last time I went wide open Andrea EarleAugust 22, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thrilling fun! We visited on a weekday in August and rode the rides multiple times. The canyon swing, defiance, and crystal tower were our favorites. We even snuck in a cave tour to cool off from the heat which was cool to see.
