Glenwood Gondola Weather Policy
The Glenwood Gondola
provides transportation to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park with breathtaking views of the town of Glenwood Springs, Mount Sopris and the confluence of the Colorado and the Roaring Fork Rivers.
The Weather
in the Rocky Mountains can change quickly. In the Spring and Summer months it is not uncommon to experience afternoon thunderstorms which bring wind and lightning.
If we experience high winds or lightning
in close proximity, the Glenwood Gondola will slow down and sometimes stop. We may also close the gondola for a period of time until the storm has passed. Typically, these storms pass quickly, usually in about 45-90 minutes. We will resume loading the gondola as soon as the storm passes.
Please plan accordingly
for these delays as there is no alternate means of transportation.

- All I can say is WOW!!! You have to ride all of these rides!!! The rides are quick but still just as thrilling as ever!!! Which makes short lines all! The food in the restaurant was great with great service. And it was all even better with the amazing view!read moreread lessBrandi Geesling7/22/2024This was one of the best amusement parks we ever attended! Clean and the new alpine coaster was incredible! We went on a weekday and the lines were not too long and the cool weather made the day spectacular. Highly recommend!!read moreread lessChérie Green DeYoung7/21/2024I'm pretty indifferent to amusement parks at my age. I get motion sickness easily, so I don't enjoy rides as much as I used to. My kids are older now (18 and 22), so parks are not as fun as they used to be back in the day. HOWEVER - I was pleasantly surprised with this park and it was a REALLY GOOD TIME. The rides were great. I can still ride rides, but I can't ride the roller coasters 10 times in a row like I once could. The DEFIANCE in particular... if you like roller coasters, it's a good one. Short but intense. Ride lines were pretty short. Food was good. Later in the warm afternoon, you do the cave tours to cool off. The cave tours were awesome, by the way. We had Luke as our guide for both caves and he was a funny young dude. Great guide!read moreread lessMichael Lydon7/17/2024
- So much fun. As a person scared of heights the ride on the lift to the top was a little scary at first. Didn't go on the swing but rode everything else that was open. Our tour guide through the fairy cave Curt made the tour. All of the staff was kind and helpful. The food was good. 21+ get the Root beer float. The alpine coaster is my favorite of all the rides the view of the valley and river are spectacular.read moreread lessMichelle Hansen7/16/2024This place was awesome. Visited with a nine year old who was tall enough to go on most rides alone and everything with me. It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had at an amusement park, and wasn’t too crowded. It was very hot the day we went but there was ample opportunity for shade. Lockers are available throughout the park in weird locations for .50 but not super necessary as there’s places to leave belongings near the ride attendant. I’d probably pay for a locker if they upgraded to the all day code type instead of the coin key kind. We enjoyed our cave tour with Noah; he was very funny, knowledgeable, and kind. It’s a very beautiful location, it’s absolutely worth going just for the Gondola. I grumbled at the total cost at the ticket window (pro tip, book online for a cheaper rate) but honestly it was so worth it.read moreread lessGabriela Bowden7/08/2024This was one of our top spots that we have been to in Colorado. The staff were very friendly and had a good sense of humor. The vibe was very uplifting and fun. The rides were the type of rides that you can't find anywhere else. The rides were very thrilling, and although some of them were scary, they were very fun. We went on the Cliffhanger, Canyon Flyer, and Alpine coaster and everything was amazing! Everything is very clean, and the ambience is very nice as well. The lines don't take very long, and me and my family enjoyed this very much. The prices were also very reasonable! I will definitely be coming here again, and if you are visiting Colorado, definitely come here to visit and enjoy the rides.read moreread lessNaveed Seliya7/02/2024
