Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is Open!

June 26, 2020

To Our Loyal Guests,

We are thrilled to be open to the public and once again have our guests enjoy America’s only mountain-top theme park. With new restrictions in place due to COVID-19, please review the changes that you will notice when you arrive at the park.

Your Arrival:  Know Before You Go
  • Reservations are required for your arrival time. PLEASE NOTE: You only need to make reservations to enter. You can stay at the Park as long as you like after that!
  • Face Coverings are now required in the State of Colorado. The City of Glenwood Springs requires persons 3 and older to wear face coverings indoors and outdoors if 6 ‘ cannot be maintained. Face coverings are to be worn at all times unless seated in the restaurant or table to eat, and after the ride attendant has you safely secured in any outdoor attraction.
  • While on the Glenwood Gondola, you can ride with your social groups or have a cabin to yourself.
Restaurant & Dining:
  • The Lookout Grille is offering a delicious new menu. You can choose from a variety of food options that will be served in to-go boxes & bags. This will include napkins, condiments and cutlery.
  • The capacity is now limited in our dining area, giving you plenty of space to enjoy your meal. We have increased our outdoor seating so that you can take your food to enjoy at tables throughout the Park.
  • We have added The Sausage Station for a new outdoor grilling experience. Enjoy craft beer bratwurst and kielbasa sausage. The Sausage Station offers bottled beverages, canned beer and cocktails.
  • The Popcorn Wagon is now located by the Haunted Mine Drop, giving you more room to enjoy snacks and beverages at the Park. Grab a soft pretzel, popcorn, cotton candy and our personal favorite, homemade cinnamon glazed nuts.
  • The Snack Shack is another great place to grab a quick bite, giving you more time to play. The Snack Shack offers pizza by the slice, hotdogs, nachos, soft serve ice cream and more!
Rides & Attractions:
  • Please follow social distancing guidelines and stand six feet apart from other guests. Face coverings must be worn while in line and while our attraction attendants are securing you. We want to keep you and our employees safe.
  • The Speleobox box is closed.
  • Laser Tag is now available on a reservation-only basis. You can enjoy Laser Tag with your social groups or in non-social groups of up to 10 people.
Photos:
  • We now have touchless transactions with a web-based delivery. Get your photos straight to your inbox!
  • You can still see your photos safely with touchless display boards and plexiglass coverings.
Cave Tours:
  • The capacity for cave tours is now limited, and we ask that you follow social distancing guidelines. Tours are limited to 15 people, or social groups of up to 18 people.
  • King’s Row will have self-guided tours during our busy times, and our guides will be stationed throughout the tour to give you fascinating information of the historic cave.
  • Our tour guides are wearing face shields so you can see their faces and enjoy the history of the cave.
The Gift Shop:
  • Capacity is limited and monitored; please wear your face covering while indoors.
  • You can still browse and take your Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park memories home!
  • Our delicious homemade fudge is available, but we are no longer allowed to give tastings.
Guest Services:
  • Our guest service team is in the plaza of the Park to assist you with any needs or questions you may have.
  • Hand sanitizer is located throughout the Park for your convenience.
  • As always, sunscreen is available as well. With the higher elevation, it’s important to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.
By visiting Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, you voluntarily assume all risks related to
exposure to COVID-19. All guests must take personal responsibility for their own health and
safety when visiting by making good choices.

What we ask of you:

  • If you are sick or not feeling well, please stay home.
  • Wash hands often and use hand sanitizer where available.
  • Maintain safe physical distancing from other parties.

Simply put, we’re doing everything we can to keep our guests and employees as safe as possible
while still providing you with the Colorado-style hospitality and entertainment that you love.

Dear Guests,

Normally, we would be opening all of our seasonal rides and attractions right now, watching you smile
as you rush to enjoy the Giant Canyon Swing, Canyon Flyer and Cliffhanger for the first time in months.
We just love to make you smile. There is nothing normal about this year, though.

The park has been very quiet since we closed on March 15, but not silent. Small groups of employees
have been working on a variety of projects so that when we can reopen, we’ll be ready to greet you with
new safety procedures in place and big smiles beneath our face coverings. There’s even a surprise in
store for you this summer that we’re sure is going to put a smile on your face, too.

What does the new normal look like? We’ve been working on that for weeks, making sure we can meet
or exceed the guidelines set forth by local, regional, state and federal agencies for operating in a COVID19 environment. Simply put, we’re doing everything we can to keep our guests and employees as safe as
possible while still providing you with the Colorado-style hospitality and entertainment that you love.

These plans include personal protection equipment, health screening and enhanced training for our
employees; touchless transactions whenever possible; online ticket purchases; plexiglass shields at
registers; frequent cleaning and disinfecting of common touchpoints throughout the park; limited
capacity; social distancing markers; and additional hand-sanitizing stations.

The global health environment is constantly changing, so these practices may evolve as we take the
latest guidance into consideration. We’ll provide you with more specific details—and hopefully an
opening date—soon. In the meantime, please check our website and Facebook page for updates.

Some of the most frequent questions we’ve been asked are by our loyal annual pass holders. Annual
passes will be extended by the length of time we’re closed and still provide all of the same benefits and
discounts.

After so much time at home, we know many of you are eager to enjoy the fun and adventure of a visit to
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. We can’t wait to welcome you back.

See you soon!
