Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park’s newest attraction, Defiance is a one-of-a-kind Gerstlauer Euro-Flight roller coaster that is an action-packed, 56-second rocky mountain adventure like no other! Defiance defies convention with a 110-foot record breaking 102.3-degree free-fall drop in the western United States.

Defiance Roller Coaster is one of our most popular thrills rides here at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. And with the help of @CoasterStudios and their amazing video footage we get to share with all of you, how the concept came about and turned into one of the most spectacular rides.
It’s our 25th Anniversary and with it comes 25 minutes of Defiance Coaster intelligence!
Our one-of-a-kind roller coaster defies gravity with its:
- 102.3-degree freefall, the steepest in the Western US.
- 98-foot twisted top hat switch
- 111-foot banana roll
- 41-foot Zero-G heartline-roll
- Defiance will sit 7,132 feet above sea level, making it the highest looping roller coaster in the United States.
Rider Requirements
- Guests must be at least 48” tall to ride.
- Maximum combined weight per row is 970lbs.
- Guests with the following conditions must not participate:
- Back, neck or vertebrae problems
- Heart conditions • Pregnancy
- Recent surgery, illness, or injury
- Abnormal blood pressure
- Fear of heights
- Pacemakers
- Fear of enclosed spaces
- Motion sickness or dizziness
- Any other medical condition that may be aggravated by this attraction
- Guests with casts or prosthetic devices may not ride.
- At a minimum, Guests must have two full legs, one foot, one full arm, and one hand.
Sign The Waiver
Before enjoying any ride or attraction, all guests must sign a Release of Liability Waiver (Exención Por Actividades). For your convenience, download and print the waiver in advance. Each person requires a separate waiver, with minors needing a parent’s or guardian’s signature. Certain conditions apply.
