To say this pendulum thrill ride is an adrenaline rush is an understatement. It was named by USAToday as one of the most extreme rides in the United States!

According to the article, “The Giant Canyon Swing at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park moves four passengers back and forth, takes them nearly vertical at the height of each swinging arc, hits a top speed of 50 mph, and delivers potent, tummy-tickling, negative G-forces, all perched at the edge of a cliff on top of a mountain,” That cliff is 1,300 feet above the Colorado River.

Important note:

Occasionally rides are closed due to maintenance or weather. Check our rides and attractions status to see that your favorite rides are open. Also, for the best value, we recommend purchasing the Funday pass online which includes gondola ridescave tours and unlimited turns on all the rides and attractions!

Fun Fact

Fun fact. The Giant Canyon Swing opened in 2010. It replaced an older, less robust swing ride. The current pneumatically-powered model allows the ride to go much faster, providing the ultimate thrill for everyday daredevils.

Fun fact. Owner Steve Beckley was terrified of riding the Giant Canyon Swing. He rode it for the first and only time when Bert the Conquerer, Sam Champion and the crew of ABC’s Good Morning America were on site to film an episode. The Giant Canyon Swing has been featured extensively in the media and is a park favorite.
