Winter on the Mountain – FAC – Hardscrabble Band

Hardscrabble Band (Bluegrass): Hardscrabble music can best be described as pure Colorado bluegrass. The band has made a name for itself by for offering a unique blend of original songs mixed with traditional bluegrass anthems, and colorful renditions of crowd favorites. They deliver a lively show aimed at audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds. Formed in 2009, this four-piece group consists of Jena Skinner on lead vocals and mandolin; Robby Brown on lead guitar and vocals, Eric Lovgren on banjo and vocals, and Scott Loss on bass and vocals. Hardscrabble has shared the stage with some of the biggest acts in bluegrass music including Peter Rowan, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Tyler Childers, Great American Taxi and Fruition. Hardscrabble has been featured at festivals like The Bonfire Block Party, Yarmony Grass, Camp Out for the Cause, Ullrgrass and the Winter Wonder Grass Festival.

From Americana, Classic Country, Classic Rock, and more, this multi genre trio, performs unique acoustic versions of covers as well as many originals. With their acoustic melodies, smooth sweet harmonies, toe tapping rhythms and unique sound, Feeding Giants brings a fun, intense yet relaxing musical experience to delight the heart and feed the soul.

Mountain Harmony Quartet (acapella): The Mountain Harmony quartet performs year-round with songs ranging from the 40s to the 70s. This acapella group may serenade you at your table in the restaurant, as you step onto our Alpine Coaster, inside the caverns and throughout the park. Their 4-part harmonies will bring to life some of your favorite songs. Mountain Harmony is a non-profit organization which raises money for local music programs and scholarships.

Leonard Curry Trio (Bluegrass/Folk): The Leonard Curry Trio will immerse the audience in a musical blend of folk, swing, rock, bluegrass and Irish tunes. You will be treated to some old favorites, some originals and some of the group’s hand-picked finely crafted songs, with great vocals and tight arrangements that will put a smile on your face.

Rodrigo Arreguin

Rodrigo (Instrumental): Rodrigo is a professional musician from Mexico. He started playing guitar when he was 10 years old, studied at the Baja California Orchestra Music Conservatory and graduated from the Technological Institute of Tijuana as a Professional Technician in Music Development at the age of 19. He´s been playing live music for more than 13 years in Mexico, Downtown San Diego and more recently around the Roaring Fork Valley. His repertoire goes from decades of greatest hits, through instrumental music and worldwide rhythms like flamenco, bossa nova, rumba and South American folk songs. His goal for every performance is to make people feel comfortable, happy and to give them a great experience with music.

Jake Gasau (Guitar Soloist): Jake Gasau is a performer and educator from Steamboat Springs. He’s the music teacher and band director at Soda Creek Elementary and has also taught at the Colorado Mountain College, Dolores High School, Battle Mountain High School, and Berry Creek Middle School. Jake currently performs with the Steamboat Springs Swing Band and is a favorite in local restaurants and a variety of venues offering contemporary guitar and vocal stylings.

Holiday Entertainment: Oran Mor

Oran Mor (Celtic Music) : Tom and Karen Cochran founded Oran Mor, which means “Big Song” in Scots Gaelic, after playing music together in various configurations for over 12 years. Their repertoire features Scottish and Irish music, some of which dates back to the 1700s, as well as current Celtic music and Americana tunes, with some originals tossed into the mix. Brendan Cochran, their son, joined the group to add a percussive flair and Jonathan Satz, formerly of The Logan Brothers, has given a strong bass foundation to the music. With instrumentation that includes recorders, Irish whistles, guitars, hand drums, bass and beautiful harmonies, this group’s music can transport its listeners to an earlier time or to a happy place.
